Deborah S. Chames Named Partner at Kluger Kaplan Silverman Katzen and Levine

MIAMI, FL – Miami-based litigation firm Kluger, Kaplan, Silverman, Katzen & Levine announces Deborah S. Chames has been named partner at the firm.  She was previously of-counsel with the firm.
Deborah-Chames-PreferredChames is a seasoned family law attorney who represents clients in all aspects of family law, including divorce, international custody proceedings, post judgment proceedings, enforcement proceedings, paternity actions, preparation of prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, and mediation.

Chames has been appointed by a number of Dade County Circuit Judges as Guardian-Ad-Litem in matrimonial matters involving children’s issues. She also frequently testifies as an expert on attorney’s fee issues in matrimonial matters and matters relating to prenuptial agreements. She has been involved in family cases before the Florida Supreme Court on multiple occasions.  She has recently been a moderator for the National Business Institute | Judicial Forum at a course entitled “What Family Court Judges Want You to Know.”

Outside of the courtroom, Chames is involved in a number of community initiatives.  She is a member of the Executive Board of Yeshiva Toras Chaim Toras Emes.  She is a Chairperson of Yehi Ohr, a division of Jewish Community Services which provides services to the Orthodox Jewish Community, including Jewish Domestic Violence victims.  She is a member of Young Israel of Hollywood / Ft. Lauderdale Synagogue and Aish Hatorah Synagogue and a member of Amit Women.  Chames is on the Advisory Board of the Women’s Division of Touro College.  She is also President of Chesed Avraham Zev/ The Dr. Abe Chames Foundation which provides assistance to Jewish educators and their families.
Chames has been at Kluger Kaplan for four years. Prior to joining Kluger Kaplan, she was a partner at Heller & Chames, P.A. since its founding in 1989. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Touro College Women’s Division, where she graduated as Salutatorian and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami School of Law.
