Miami, FL,  September 15, 2025 – Kluger, Kaplan, Silverman, Katzen & Levine, P.L., a premier South Florida-based litigation firm, is proud to announce that Taiye Ajayi, a second-year law student at the University of Miami School of Law, has been selected as the recipient of the H.T. Smith Legal Studies Scholarship for the 2025-26 academic year. Additionally, the Firm is also proud to share that Manoach Deliscar, last year’s scholarship recipient, has accepted a full-time position as an Associate.

The scholarship, established in 2021 to honor attorney, civil rights advocate, and community leader H.T. Smith, provides eligible law school students in Florida with $15,000 in financial assistance, a summer clerkship in Kluger Kaplan’s Miami office, and the opportunity to join the firm as an Associate following graduation and successful completion of the Florida Bar exam.

Originally from Windermere, Florida, Ms. Ajayi is a first-generation law student who has distinguished herself through academic excellence, earning CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in both Legal Communication and Research I and II. She currently serves as Secretary of the Black Law Student Association and as a Student Ambassador at Miami Law.

“Taiye represents the very qualities we envisioned when we created the H.T. Smith Scholarship – academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to serving the community,” said Alan J. Kluger, Founding Partner at Kluger Kaplan. “Her selection, alongside Manoach’s return to the firm as a full-time Associate, exemplifies the long-term impact of this program in fostering the next generation of talented attorneys. We are proud to support their journeys and confident they will make meaningful contributions to the legal profession and beyond.”

Ms. Ajayi has also gained valuable legal experience at prominent firms and organizations. She served as a Summer Associate at Ben Crump Law, PLLC in Orlando, where she conducted legal research, drafted pleadings, and participated in depositions, hearings, and trials. This fall, she will join the University of Miami’s Children & Youth Law Clinic as a Legal Intern, representing children in foster care and former foster youth in dependency proceedings and related civil matters.

Mr. Deliscar recently completed the firm’s summer clerkship program this year and will return to Kluger Kaplan in the fall to work across a variety of practice areas following his upcoming graduation and admission to the Florida Bar. Mr. Deliscar previously gained experience at an immigration law firm in Jacksonville, Florida, and at Davis Law, where he focused on insurance coverage and business litigation. He received a bachelor’s degree in political science and a minor in the Sociology of Social Justice and Policy from the University of Florida.

The H.T. Smith Legal Studies Scholarship recognizes academic achievement, leadership, and a demonstrated commitment to civic service. Eligible applicants must be entering their second year of law school at one of six Florida institutions: the University of Miami, Florida International University, Nova Southeastern University, St. Thomas University, Florida State University, or the University of Florida.
