Kluger Kaplan Silverman Katzen & Levine Names Christina I. Echeverri as Partner

South Florida’s preeminent litigation firm, Kluger, Kaplan, Silverman, Katzen & Levine, has elected Christina I. Echeverri as a partner. Ms. Echeverri has served for eight years in Kluger Kaplan’s fast-expanding Family Law Group. As the first Hispanic partner within the firm, Ms. Echeverri plans to expand Kluger Kaplan’s reach into South Florida’s Latin American community.

Ms. Echeverri focuses her practice on all aspects of divorce, post judgment proceedings, enforcement proceedings, paternity actions and prenuptial and postnuptial agreements. Clients trust her managing sensitive, complicated – and often high-profile – family matters. She is also experienced navigating cross-border family disputes that are litigated in Florida courts.

“The addition of Christina Echeverri to Kluger Kaplan’s partnership reflects both our commitment to cultivating talent within our firm, as well as the growth and trajectory of our Family Law Group,” said Jason Marks, a Founding Member of Kluger Kaplan and head of the firm’s Family Practice. “More and more, clients are seeking our counsel in cases that have an international element. Christina has proven adept in managing these complex conflicts – and securing favorable outcomes for our clients.”

Beyond her practice, Ms. Echeverri is a member of the Florida Bar’s Family Law Section, the American Bar Association, and the Dade County Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division. She is also a regular commentator on Spanish-language television.

Ms. Echeverri has served on the Board of Directors for KidSide Miami, a non-profit formed by a group of prominent family attorneys that raises and secures funds to provide the best possible services and facilities to children in Miami-Dade who have suffered through the conflict of their parents’ divorce or other litigation in the Family and Domestic Violence Courts. She actively offers her expertise to ensure high-conflict families receive community support through legal services, therapy and fundraising events.

Prior to joining the firm in 2011, Christina worked as an Associate at Heller & Chames, where she practiced family law. She also worked at a civil litigation defense firm, representing insurance companies against premise liability and worker’s compensation claims, and was selected to serve as a judicial intern for Justice Charles T. Well of the Florida Supreme Court. Last year, Christina was recognized by the South Florida Legal Guide as a “Top Up and Comer” and she has received numerous book awards for Civil Procedure, Constitutional Law, Legal Research and Writing.

Christina received her bachelor’s of science from Florida International University, and attended St. Thomas University School of Law, where she graduated cum laude with her Juris Doctorate degree.
