MIAMI – June 1, 2022 – Amidst the uptick in business and wealth migration to the state, South Florida’s preeminent litigation firm, Kluger, Kaplan, Silverman, Katzen & Levine P.L., continues to grow with the addition of two new associates: Kalpesh “Kal” Mehta, a commercial litigator, and Kody Trespalacios, a family law attorney.
“Kal and Kody have proven themselves to be dedicated and talented attorneys, and we are thrilled to have them onboard as we continue to grow and strengthen our commercial litigation and family law practices,” said Alan J. Kluger, founding partner at Kluger Kaplan.
Mr. Mehta focuses his practice on complex commercial, real estate, and probate litigation, with an emphasis on contractual and business disputes. Serving a diverse client base, he represents and advises clients in state and all federal courts across Florida on matters involving, among other things, claims for breach of contract and business torts, including fraud.
Prior to joining Kluger Kaplan, Mr. Mehta served as a business litigation attorney at an international law firm in Miami, focusing on complex commercial litigation, insurance litigation, and real estate disputes. He also previously served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Jonathan Goodman of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
Mr. Mehta received his B.B.A. in accounting from Florida Atlantic University and earned his J.D. from the University of Florida Levin College of Law.
Mr. Trespalacios was an associate at a boutique family law firm in Miami prior to joining Kluger Kaplan. He worked on a variety of complex family law matters, including prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, paternity issues, and high net worth dissolutions of marriage involving equitable distribution, business valuations, alimony, child support, and parental responsibility and timesharing. Previously, he served as a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Judge Monica Gordo in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida, where he observed various civil, criminal, and family hearings and trials.
Mr. Trespalacios earned his J.D. from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad College of Law where he was a member of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society, Association of Business Law Students, and the Family Law Society. He received his B.S. in finance from Florida State University.
