For more than three decades, Best Lawyers is regarded as one of the most respected peer-review publications in the legal profession and is the first and foremost resource for legal talent worldwide. The publication’s list of outstanding lawyers is compiled as a result of an extensive peer-review evaluation process, which confidentially surveys tens of thousands of leading lawyers and their professional peers. If votes for a lawyer are positive enough for recognition, that lawyer then must maintain those votes in subsequent polls to remain in each edition, according to the Best Lawyers website. This year, eight million votes were analyzed, which resulted in the inclusion of more than 65,000 lawyers, or approximately six percent of lawyers in private practice in the United States. 

The Best Lawyers ‘Ones to Watch’ award recognizes extraordinary lawyers who have been in private practice for less than 10 years in the United States and is also based entirely on peer review.
